The humble adventures of Erin and Eric. A young couple exploring the world together one day at a time.

EAT local

Say what you will, but Temecula has it’s gems. E.A.T: Extraordinary Artisan Table is definitely something special. Its a farm-to-plate cafe that serves local and handcrafted entrees, sides and pastries that are good and good for you.

(Flat bread with mozzarella, mortadella, tomato and bacon w/a side salad)

Fresh ingredients, nice people, a menu that changes daily and the cozy, rustic decor make this place super unique.

Stop by, if you can, this place is open Tuesday-Friday from 8-3pm (took me a month to fit it in the schedule) but well worth it once you do.

Wine Hopping

Recently, we realized what’s the point of living down the street from wine country if we don’t go to every single winery. Therefore, we will do our best to capture and share our experiences as we drink them. We’ve also decided it’s a great place to take out of town guests..what better way to entertain but to wine and dine em’.

This week: Doffo

A tiny boutique winery that had a unique combination of Italian charm and vintage motorcycles that just seemed to work for them. An added bonus: A self guided tour that came with it’s own map and mandatory waiver. A must do after a satisfying tasting.

Just a reminder to those in the area: tomorrow is farmer’s market day in Old Town Temecula! A great place to get your fresh veggies for the week, flowers for the home or a delicious crepe for your Friday night hangover. It’s also just a great place to spend the morning and pick up some local goods. Definitely worth waking up early for - highly recommend!

Everyone hates Mondays right???! Nope. Not when you have the day off. This is our intrepretation of a Sunday drive…remixed to fit into our Monday off. Took a drive up through Anza for a Basset Hound meet and greet. (puppy pics coming soon)

Cure for the Common Hangover: The Essentials

From left to right: Nike Pre Montreal Racer Vintage, Tortilla chips from Sprouts, Fedora from Forever 21, Owenn jelly sandal-BCBG, Jawbone Jambox, Choco Taco from the ice cream man, and homemade guacamole. (pb&j - not pictured)

Beat the Clock pizza!

Old town Temecula has its moments. Monday’s and Tuesday’s are what we like to think of as precious moments because of places like Nitza’s Pizza, the best way to start your week. On these days, a medium 2 topping pizza will cost the price of the time you order it (anytime between 5-8pm) for example, order a Canadian bacon and pineapple at 5:03pm? That’ll be $5.03. They’re crust is the crispiest and cheese the meltiest! Tell your friends….or don’t..but really, support local stuff.

P.S. Spinach + Mozzarella pictured above.

Day Drunk.

Apparently it’s a holiday, however, it’s just another Monday off to us. Decided to put the wine membership to use today and felt like recommending it - hard. Wine memberships are great for a multiple of reasons:

-Getting drunk during the day is considered “classy” here.
-Meeting the most randomly awesome people. For instance, TJ: the Indian casino bouncer with the friendly smile. Or Japanese College Girl: who spent the day with us observing our Western Humor.
We love Ponte, in Temecula Ca. A humble environment with nice WineTenders(?) and an excellent selection for red and white lovers alike. Plus they sell weird knick knacks like such:
Happy Memorial Day.

Local Goodness

This morning we started our day like any other…with a bagel. But after the bagel we went and got some tea at this spot that Erin tracked down the other day. Its called California Tea & Coffee Brewery, and its awesome! The owner’s name is Vern, and even though this was only my second time here, I was greeted with a handshake. Needless to say, Vern is a cool dude. The tea is hand picked from around the world and Vern insures the highest quality due to the rotation of tea that they carry in house. The diamond in the rough at this joint are the macaroons (according to Erin). Apparently macaroons are a big deal, I mean, I’m on board with the macaroon craze after my experience. Anyways, check em out and support local business as opposed to the corporate trash thats around town. =)
